Iranian short film ‘The Kids’ has been competing at the 2021 edition of the Arlington International Film Festival (AIFF) in the US.

Made by Amir Daryani, 'The Kids' tells the story of a sister and brother who decide to separate due to the conditions of their home and own behavioral disorders.

Sina and Mobina, the brother and sister, appear in a family court to separate due to a hostile environment in their domestic life. This is the first time a brother and sister have decided to break up legally.

Nakisa, Barbod and Naeem Bakhtiari have played the roles in the film which will soon take part in the San Francisco Iranian Film Festival in the US.

The short film has so far gone on screen at some global events, including the San Francisco Iranian Film Festival in the US and the Fresco International Festival of Modern Art and Spiritual Films in Armenia, where it won an award for promoting family values.

According to the official website of the AIFF, “it offers a unique opportunity for cross-cultural education by promoting understanding of the many cultures represented in our town and beyond”.

The 2021 edition of the festival has been slated for November 4-14, 2021.
